I thought eco friendly meant drab - cardboard colored plates with beige napkins. Not so! What a delight to discover Bambooware. While Bambooware is more expensive than other disposables, it is one classy alternative to cheap plastic plates that are petroleum based and create land fill. Bambooware products are sturdy, biodegradable, party plates, trays, and utensils that are quite elegant and sophisticated. You will love their texture and the detail in the grain. I wash mine by hand so I can reuse them, however they are intended for single use. Once disposed, they biodegrade after 4-6 months. Imagine, they are made from the stalks of the bamboo plant which does not impact the plant itself - the definition of sustainable.
